Papito's was started by Sean Lai, an ex-banker who has always had a keen interest in food.

Growing up in various parts of Europe, he was immersed in their culture and lifestyle, and decided to bring that back to Singapore by opening Papito’s to celebrate good and traditional food.

He wants the stall to remind others of their childhood and the holidays that they’ve experienced.

Papito’s offers rustic, heart-warming food with a Mediterranean concept.

Paella and crepes are the main stars, with homemade pastries, such as apple tarts, baked on the spot as a side.

Their artisan approach towards food is very personalised and meticulous throughout the whole process, from start to finish.

Their paella pans are sourced from Spain, and the salt with which they season it is the prized Sel de Guerande from France.

Homemade ‘Orangina’, grenadine drinks and coffee are also offered to complement the foods.

Papito’s also has a range of dry goods on sale, with spices, such as saffrom from Iran, bottled grenadines, paella rice and other products stocked at the stall.

Garlic braids, dried chilli, peppers and old lamps hang from the ceilings, reminiscent of old European style groceries.

As much as possible, they want to tell stories of their travels through their food.
